World Kidney Day
World Kidney Day, which is held the second Thursday every March, is a chance to raise awareness of kidney disease. Next year it will be 12th March 2020. World Kidney Day is a great opportunity to raise awareness and share your stories. Personal stories are a way to getting people to understand what life is like for a kidney patient. It is a way to encouraging others to be mindful of their own kidney health. Support us to raise awareness of Kidney health!
Kidney Health Month is March and we want to take the opportunity to raise awareness. We want people, especially those with the risk factors getting their kidneys checked, so problems can be detected early. Early detection can reduce the likelihood of further kidney damage
World Kidney day is an opportunity to:
- Get a simple kidney fitness check - talk to your Dr about having this done
- Place "Are Your Kidneys OK?" posters in your workplace or community and inspire others to be aware of their kidney health. Get in touch to order posters at no cost.
- Participate in an event to raise awareness of kidney health
- Share your personal experience to raise awareness
- Raise public awareness of kidney health by sharing your story, fundraising or putting up posters in shop windows for KHNZ
- Spread the word about prevention
- Encourage early detection and prevention
To celebrate World Kidney Day, get a simple Kidney Fitness Check. Ask your doctor for a:
- Blood pressure check
- Urine test to check for protein
- A blood test if needed.
Request a copy of your test and know your numbers! Call 0800 543639 (KIDNEY) if you have any questions.
Take this opportunity to support better kidney health for all New Zealanders by supporting KHNZ. Donate, run a fundraiser, make your next challenge an awareness raising opportunity.
We need your help to do more!
